Flip Out Gamewright Game for Kids

Affiliate Links I hate to play favorites but . . . I sure love Gamewright games. Actually, until recently, I didn’t realize how many of our games were Gamewright games — see below for a full list. And, I was fortunate to try out their newest game, FlipOut, which is my 9-year old’s favorite game EVER. What’s even better, Gamewright is giving away a FlipOut game to an Imagination Soup reader!

FlipOut

So, FlipOut took AJ about 10 seconds to figure out while I had a bit of a slower learning curve. But, this is why it’s a game for kids — we English major adults are obviously too slow to understand visual discrimination and strategic thinking. Which is what I tell myself every time she beats me.

For the record, I am getting better.

Anyway, the object of the game is to get the most cards.

To Play Flip Out

Put 6 cards into your card holder. You get 2 moves per turn. You can choose to flip, swap, or switch cards to get 4 or more cards next to each other in the same color-pattern to make a set. Above, my daughter is swapping her cards for mine. Below is an example of a 4 card set that I actually got myself. (patting myself on the back)

You might think to yourself, I don’t think that sounds so hard, Melissa, but I am here to tell you — don’t judge me, we all have our areas for growth. This is mine.

Moving on. (And, yes, I happily beat my children at all games. When I can. It’s called live and learn.)

FlipOut is for ages 8 and up (cough, cough) and for 2 – 5 players.
