Looking for more ways to build vocabulary and storytelling? Check out Story Play Game, a new game from Briarpatch with 125 double-sided word tiles to encourage both reading and storytelling.

Story Play Game Stories

Players work together to create story sentences using as many tiles as possible from the 6 tiles each player draws. Try to make a funny story!

Story Play Name It & Draw It

Randomly pick 3 tiles and draw a picture based on the tiles chosen. Here’s “a sock circus” illustrated.

Also, you can play Totem Pole! where players take turns picking a tile drawing it from bottom to top, adding on like a totem pole.

And yes, it’s as fun as it looks. 🙂

  1. Hi, can i ask you something? I know it’s a bit off-topic but… I’m looking for children books with “scary” animal illustrations like the big bad wolf (or a fox) eating pigs (or seven kids or Red Riding hood or birds in Chicken Little) or being pictured with a fat stomach. Could be any other animal as well. I need it for my research I’m doing. Have you seen any book of this sort? Any sort of help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
