A Great Picture Book for Momentous Occasions

Walk On! a guide for babies of all ages by Marla Frazee is perfect for older “babies” – ones with drivers licenses, mortgages and kids.  These babies, like any of us, might be stepping into a new time in their lives and need the encouragement to “walk on”.

Recently, I gave Walk On! to a friend for her 40th birthday and another for her 50th.  Both loved it as much as I’d hoped they would.

Here’s a quote from the book that I used as my inscription —

“When the time is right for you . . .

Take the first step.

And another.

And another.

It gets easier, huh?”

Know anyone who needs that encouragement for a life transition?

  1. My friend, Kristen, uses it in her second grade class. I think she lifts the text and has the kids expand with pictures. Sounds fun, doesn’t it!?

  2. Sounds like a great book, and a great gift for encouraging us to celebrate life’s milestones!

  3. This book sounds enticing at many levels. There are so many life passages (thank you Gail Sheehy) that in our society are not acknowledged.

Hmmm, I love children’s books that help me look at all the existential questions I have.
