My Favorite Graphic Novel of 2017 So Far Is 5 Worlds

The Five World’s are overheating and under attack. Three kids must find their inner strength and save the Worlds.
Oona Lee is a sand dancer who can’t control the sand, not like her missing very talented sister. Her sister sends Oona a ticket to meet up but once in the air, her airship crashes into a Starball arena because of an attack the power grid. There she finds a player, Jax Amboy, and a kind boy with a mysterious illness named An Tzu. The three escape the ruined arena and head for the Sand Castle.
Unfortunately, the attackers use weaponized dark sand and gigantic robots. They take the queen’s bones then destroy the Sand Castle and all the sand dancers except Oona and, of course, her sister. Before everything is lost, Oona’s teacher implores her to find her sister and save the Worlds.
The three friends are helped by wise plant people and Jax’s uncle. Through their kindness and wisdom, Oona begins to trust herself and the sand. It is time for her, not her sister, to light the Beacons now.
But, they still must face a dark force that comes with a devastating betrayal. . .
My 12-year old daughter loved this book as much as me. And, it’s even more significant because she has a chronic illness and hasn’t felt up for reading much of anything in months. Thanks to the compelling story and amazing artwork, she read. She read! Happy mom, here. 🙂

Check out 5 Worlds on Tumblr here.
My daughter loved 5 Worlds too. She read it three times before I could pry it out of her hands. 😉
wow — that’s so cool!
