I must tell you my newest favorite things because they’ll make great holiday gifts. Like a glass water bottle, and running shoes that feel like air, . . . you’ll see.
1. R I V É (rihVAY) Glass Water Bottles
The ultimate BPA free, chemicals to get out BPA-free, contaminants, water bottle is . . . drum roll . . . glass. (Gasp!) And, the water tastes like water — not like plastic or aluminum.
It’s hard to break my new favorite water bottle and the designs are fabulous. Honestly, I figured I’d break it for sure – I’m so klutzy and absentminded. I’ve dropped it, I’ve taken it to the gym with me, and thus far, it’s survived life with Melissa! The lid twists to open and there’s a protective silicone bottom piece, too. I love it. (The lady next to me in my barbell class yesterday wrote down the website so she could buy herself a few bottles.)
“I know several 8-10 year-old children who use the bottles and love them,” said Rivé Founder Jillian Craig. “They were not designed for specifically for children, but the glass is sturdy and silicone help protects it. Use with care!”
P.S. Does anyone know about glass straws? I’m going to switch if they can’t be broken too easily.

2. Skechers GoRun Running Shoes
I just started running again after years off — and I have this new shoe Jeff’s Skecher’s rep friend gave me for some reason. (Jeff Taylor= my physical fitness guru husband.) And, I LOVE the shoes so much I couldn’t believe it. (Even better than my favorite New Balance shoes!)
3. Field Notes from Daniel Pink‘s Newsletter
I think I need to go back to a paper calendar and notebook. I just can’t seem to get with the tech programs as well as my old paper system. These Field Notes look perfect for carrying around with me. In my backpack. I gave up purses for good — too much shoulder pain. My friends mock me. (You know who you are –.) But, I say backpacks will catch on one day. Especially when you wear both straps. So sexy to have no pain!
4. Mental Floss T-Shirts (the magazine is good, too!)
I just think these shirts are hilarious. I own several. I’ll let them speak for themselves . . .
Cracking up, yet?!
P.S. If you haven’t yet, check out Good Night iPad by Ann Droyd. A hilarious parody!
Happy Holidays, friends.
End of this week, I’m going offline until January. Between now and then, I’ve scheduled several fantastic guest posts. Then, in January, expect posts about education and learning. If you want to contribute or have a specific topic in mind, email me at [email protected]
