We are huge Denver Nuggets fans. So is our seven year old daughter. She’s managed to convince us (not too hard) to let her stay up late to watch the play-off games. To ease my guilty bad-mama conscious, I’m making her work for it . . .
Math and Basketball
How much are the Nuggets ahead of the Lakers? (Last night, it was unfortunately the other way around.)
How many points do the Lakers have to score until . . . or the Nuggets . . . ?
How many points have we scored this quarter? How many points more has Melo scored than KMart?
How many minutes left in the quarter?
How many field goals (3 pointers) do we need?
etc.
How do you like that justification for staying up late? Go Nuggets!

The justification is perfect! And someday she’ll remember it. When I was little, my dad always let me stay up for the beginning of Monday Night Football (with Hank singing), and to this day, it’s a memory that makes me smile!
That sounds fun. Do you still like football?
That is really neat! Hopefully, I will someday soon find a very good wife who will be a great mother as well. Keep up the good stuff, all you smart and hard-working mothers out there!
