Write a Gingerbread Story

Now, take your gingerbread boy and girl cookie cutters — and use them to inspire your own gingerbread person story and as stencils.

Go here to get directions for making your own book.

Before you write, ask your kids to think of a gingerbread person of their own– ninja, princess, turkey?

Then, have them write their own gingerbread person escape story.

Use the cookie cutters to help with illustrations.

Don’t worry about spelling. Let your kids use invented spelling and just get the story down on paper.

Even very beginning writers can do this activity!
