You don’t need to break the bank to pursue your passions. I actually find that the bigger hurdle is finding more time!
One thing I do is use a generally untapped resource – my American Express Membership Rewards® points – to help me get merchandise to help me pursue my passions. Amex wants to encourage you to do the same and makes it easy through their ShopAmex site…
As you know, my personal passion is encouraging children to love reading, so I’ve compiled nine essentials for you to create a DIY book nook for kids.
Who wouldn’t want to read in this cozy space?!
9 Book Nook Essentials
Post fun and funky artwork that your kids help select. I happen to adore this print and so do my kids!
2. Folding Screen
We need a room divider to make our book nook separate from the living space. These work well in living rooms, bedrooms, and basements.
3. Big Dog Small Dog
Every toddler needs P.D. Eastman’s board books. This is one of our favorites.
4. How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?
Both girls and boys love this silly series about dinosaurs and manners. We have all these books.
5. The Chronicles of Narnia
A classic fantasy adventure series, the Chronicles of Narnia books remain just as compelling now as they did when they were published. Take me away!
I love having lamps in reading areas – not just for the light – but for the ambiance they create. It just adds an extra special peacefulness.
Beanbags and pillows are a must for kids to curl up and read. My kids love their beanbags.
Of course you need a solid place to store all that fabulous reading material!
The rug really finishes off your reading corner, making it the perfect a cozy spot to read.
I was selected by American Express as to help educate consumers about how to use Membership Rewards points. As such I was paid for my services, but all products selected and opinions about the products and American Express are my own.
