This is one of my favorite activities. I love when the kids dress themselves up too, and pose in various scenes that tell stories. You can see a blog post I just did for Gryphon House about it here: http://blog.gryphonhouse.com/2012/03/13/reading-scenes-lets-take-pictures/
Thank you for all your great ideas. LOVE YOUR BLOG!

yes, the cameras marketed to kids are worthless - I think any of the digital cameras by Canon or Nikon are great. I found several on Amazon for around $100 -

Kodak has one for about $50 which I'm sure would be fine -- http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-Easyshare-C1505-Digital-Camera/dp/B005AKRPP8/ref=sr_1_56?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1331399257&sr=1-56

Good luck!

I remember a past post where you said don't bother with kid cameras. Do you have an inexpensive, durable digital camera you'd recommend for a 5-8 year old?
