Fans of the middle-grade fantasy series, Fablehaven by Brandon Mull, will love the newest companion book called The Caretaker’s Guide to Fablehaven arriving in bookstores October 13, 2015. It’s the essential guide to Fablehaven so if you want to be a caretaker, or just play one on TT, or just read the books, it’s a must-own.
Caretaker’s Guide is a beautifully designed tome with paper that looks like worn, aged parchment. Lovely sketches illustrate many of the entries. Handwritten notes from the characters and creatures of Fablehaven in the margins make the entries more interesting. (Guess which statyr makes comments?)
You’ll also discover written wisdom from Grandma Sorenson and Grandpa Sorenson meant to guide you as a Fablehaven caretaker. For example, “None of these creatures are good. Not the way we think of good. None are safe. Much of morality is peculiar to mortality. The best creatures here are merely not evil.” – Grandpa Sorenson. There’s more wisdom from previous caretakers as well like, “Questions that start with “why” are the toughest to answer. You end up guessing more than knowing.” – Dale.
Reading this book with these notes will take you back to the stories. For me, it made me want to reread the series again. Right now. I loved how much The Caretaker’s Guide to Fablehaven reminded me of each book in the series.
