Hello! I really like the list you created. I have read a couple of them for an assignment I have, to identify children's books for the diverse students I will likely have in my future classroom. These books can easily start a discussion or help a child feel seen. I am beginning to learn about how to make lessons plans with read a louds to support the content I am teaching and get the students engaged. I think you mentioned on this blog that you are a mom and former elementary teacher. Have you had a chance to read some of these books to your students or child? If so, do you remember which were their favorites, some questions they had, or how they felt about the books?
Thank you.

To add to this list, I'd recommend Living at Langster Motel by Cindy Sabulis, about a girl and her family who live in a motel. Lot of good messages in there without being preachy. For middle school aged kids.
