Q’s Race to the Top is an interactive, engaging emotional intelligence board game. Mompreneur of three kids, Sofia Dickens, designed this game for practicing social skills and behavior. It’s meant for children ages three and above.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence (also called social-emotional learning) is the ability to understand, use, and manage emotions.
It includes: reading social cues, self-motivation, delaying gratification, coping with life’s ups and downs, managing relationships, decision-making, and problem-solving.
We know from research that emotional intelligence in children often leads to life success. (And that it can be taught and practiced.)
But you’re wondering if it’s any good. In our opinion, YES! My kids enjoy the questions and actions. My husband and I enjoy watching them having fun while practicing their EQ skills. It’s a game worth the investment of $29.99 available at Target or online.
Q’s Race to the Top Game
The obvious goal is to arrive at the top of the tree house first by answering questions and performing actions.
The other goal is to help children with feelings, communication, manners, social skills, creative thinking, balance, and coordination.

The Q cards help practice manners, coping skills, and adopting a positive attitude.
The DO cards help develop emotional self-control.
The YOU cards help kids identify and verbalize feelings, think creatively, and talk about behavior.
Here my daughter joins dad for a “DO” of high step knees.
My other daughter starts answering a “Q.”
What do you think? Would this be a game you’d purchase for your family game nights?
For more supportive EQ goodies, you can also buy an “On-the-Go” pack of questions, a picture book, a coloring book, and a plush Q.
I love board games and this one even has an educational bent. It’s a Win/Win! 🙂 And did you know that Tabletop Day is April 11th? 😀 http://tabletopday.com/
no, I didn’t – thanks!
