I’m sure you read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steve Covey and maybe even Sean Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Happy Kids. Educational Insights teamed up with Sean Covey and Franklin Covey to create The 7 Habits of Happy Kids Game. This game gets kids learning about the habits and applying them to their lives and we’re huge fans. (Scroll down to find out how to win $50 at Educational Insights.)

Our take? My kids LOVED this game – and so did I. Frankly, I was surprised at how much they liked it. I’m talking want-to-play every day liked it! That doesn’t happen often.

The 7 Habits Game

Each player chooses one of the 7 characters and takes a 7 token holder. Players move around the game board, taking turns reading and answering the cards. Each card focuses on one of the habits. The winner? Actually everyone is a winner. Play continues until all the players have filled up their token holders. (Oh, and the rabbit ears go on when you’re listening!)

Example questions:
Habit #5 – Care to Share? Everyone likes to be heard! Share a time when someone didn’t listen or hear you and how that made you feel. Collect 1 Jumper Token for your answer.

Habit #3 – Sing One Thing  Being a good friend is important! Put first things first and SING one nice thing you can do for a friend. Collect 1 Pokey Token for your answer.

Habit #1 – Luck of the Draw   Sammy Squirrel is complaining that he is bored — he can do something about that! On a pad of paper, DRAW something you can do when you are bored. You and the FIRST player to guess correctly what you are drawing BOTH collect 1 Sammy Token!

AJ’s school is using these habits in the classroom using the The Leader in Me curriculum, so she’s getting such great habits learning and practice at home and at school.
