For Your Nightstand – No Regrets Parenting
The kids have left the nest, and as you reflect on the last 18 years, do you have regrets? No Regrets Parenting by Harley Rotbart, M.D., a dad and empty nester, affirms making the daily moments count so you have no regrets. The book gives us easy, doable ideas; I loved it!
I enjoyed Rotbart’s gentle, compassionate style, the short chapters, and his tried-and-true wisdom like these gems:
“Set aside daily moseying time. Mosey through dinner, mosey for an evening walk after dinner, mosey during story time. The extra few minutes you devote to eating slower, walking slower, and reading slower will give your kids’ brains a breather . . .”
“The truest measure of you as a person may be your calendar.”
“Kids should start several businesses during their childhood, and teaching them how is a marvelous way for you and your kids to spend time together.”
Author, Dr. Rotbart, is a pediatrics specialist and Professor and Vice Chairman of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the Children’s Hospital of Denver.
More Standardized Test Madness
What in the world? This passage from a middle school standardized test confuses everyone – including a Jeopardy champion. Take a look for yourself. It’s bizarro!
These letters between a special needs parent and school are very disturbing don’t you think?
