Fabulous Activity Book: Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker

Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker: Mix and Mismatch Styles got my sick 13-year old teen to be creative and stay off technology while recuperating on the couch. She totally loved this activity book. In fact, it’s great gift idea it is for your own tween or tween, don’t you think?
“It’s really cool!” enthused my daughter. Today she wants to be a fashion designer. (Today.) But, whether or not your child likes fashion, it’s an engaging activity book for kids who enjoy being creative and artsy. (I think for my daughter who wears uniforms to school, it gives her some practice in putting together outfits that she doesn’t get otherwise.)
Fabulous Activity Book: Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker
Fashion Rebel Outfit Maker comes with a sketchpad of tracing-type paper with outlines of models plus sturdy design templates. Some of the tracing sheets give style prompts such as “rock and roll” or “retro twist.” Some are just blank with the body outline.
Use the fashion template cards to create and draw an outfit — there are so many options to choose your design from. Think dresses, coats, tops, bottoms, accessories, . . . even hair styles.
The creator of the book is Louise Scott-Smith, a children’s wear designer. She was formerly Head of Children’s Wear Design at Liberty of London and at Caramel Baby & Child. The illustrator, Georgia Vaux, is a graphic designer, book designer, and art director.
