2020 Virtual Summer Camps for Kids

We don’t need anything else virtual BUT, the challenge we have this summer is to keep kids learning and not regressing. To that end, I’ve updated my list with the most note worthy virtual summer camps for kids.
I hope this will be helpful in preventing the summer slide and also your kids something to do!
Virtual Summer Camps for Kids
Camp PBS Parents
Check into this free summer camp weekly to discover new literacy activities, crafts, and science experiments for you to do at home with your kids. Example: Dive Into Dinosaurs
Camp Wonderopolis
This fun site has been around for awhile now and provides free, interactive STEM and literacy activities. 2020’s themes include science, health and fitness, tinkering, music, and engineering. Sample camp: Symphony of Wonders
Camp Crate Joy
Camp Cratejoy for ages 6 to 12 is a free online 5 day camp with activities in Science, Art, Cooking, Technology, and more. Upgrade to order all your supplies for the camp’s activities.
Maker Camp
Check out this free virtual summer camp for daily activities across a spectrum of science, technology, tinker, crafting, and weekly virtual field trips to amazing places with live and prerecorded options. Sample videos here.
Start with a Book
Start with a Book summer camp provides parents with themes and related book lists, activities, and apps. Kids can print an Adventure Tracker to track their learning adventures with a fun map and log sheet. sample activity: Make a Cardboard Crossbow
CU Science Discovery
If you’re looking for camps with a STEM focus, try one of these K-12 camps from the University of Colorado Boulder. Example class: Virtual Code with JavaScript, Grades 6 – 8.
Sweetology Baking Camps
Learn the basics of cake decorating: making buttercream frosting, basic design elements, how to frost a cake, cake decorating tools and uses, piping basic borders and designs, and working with fondant.
Baketivity
This camp sends your kids a box of supplies so they can do the four weeks of baking activities.
America Museum of Natural History Virtual Field Trips
Engage with Museum exhibits remotely and to complete activities to gain scientific knowledge, with materials to support teachers or parents in standards-aligned instruction.
