Today, I want to recommend some beginning chapter books for early readers who need some good books. Since you want to keep the reading momentum, all of my suggestions are books in a series. 1. Is it important to read these books in order? Or are some of the series ok not to? For example, we read Junnie B Jones, I don’t really think they need to be in order to enjoy, but other books we have read don’t always make sense if you read them out of order. Since I’m not familiar with a lot if these series, any insight would be great. I’ve seen the bad kitty books, but didn’t know if I needed to hunt down book one first. Thanks for the great list!

  2. Some very early chapter books: Bink & Gollie, Fly Guy, Annie & Snowball, Mercy Watson, Cowgirl Kate & Cocoa, Zelda & Ivy, & Mouse & Mole (Yee)

    1. Thanks for the additional suggestions! Flat Stanley is another hit with students.

  3. Ready, Freddy! series by Abby Klein. Sort of the male counterpart of Junie B Jones.

  4. We recently read the Fancy Nancy book and was shocked at its length. Seemed a bit long for the early chapter book readers. A good book, just long..
