Artterro Canvas Storybook Kit

canvas storybook 203x225 Win an Arttero Canvas Storybook Kit

Arttero sent me a Canvas Story Book Kit to review. I couldn’t quite visualize writing on a canvas cloth  so I wanted to see for myself. It turned out to be so much fun!

The directions suggest writing with a pen or marker but I decided just to use the supplies from the kit to cut, paint, glue and design a visual story without words. The book’s pages are sewn together so you can stuff and sew up the bottoms and tops with batting or keep the pages like they are and even cut apart to double the pages.

We made a family art story – each of us planned out our own pages to represent something in our family. I worked on mine for hours! (Which is saying a lot because I’m not crafty.)

This photo shows the border my eight year old was making. The page with the house on it I made with my five year old daughter.

The Arttero kids are eco-friendly, designed by moms and assembled by The Goodwill Industries. The Canvas Story Book Kit sells on their website for $24.95.

For those tactile kids, this is a great idea. Also, I would think if would last much longer and be studier than paper. What a unique way to write. I’m sure it’s a beautiful final project. My students would love to try this!

What a fun idea. Perhaps given this as a model I could put together my own canvas books to play with. Then I would have a few to mess up.
