Green Golly and Her Golden Flute Music CD by Sweet and Tickletoon innovates music and storytelling for children. It combines flute classical music with the story of Rapunzel – only in this story, she’s Green Golly and she plays the flute. Flute pieces from Mozart, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Gossec, Elgar, Bizet, Chopin, and Copland – beautiful selections.
My 8 year old daughter liked it but didn’t think that it ended well – “It doesn’t explain what happened,” she tells me. However, we both really enjoyed the music and the lively interchange of music and story.

I play the flute (although mine is silver). I’d love to hear the musical selections featured in this book and read the story with my children.
My niece Lexi would love this book (if my son doesn’t get to it first! He asked me once if it was okay to love princess stories… Sure!)

I teach future teachers and I love resources such as these to introduce my students to. I also love classical music and would love to have this to play with my grandchildren to introduce them to wonderful music.
