Nature alphabet book
07 Aug | 3 Comments »This week, preschool and kindergarten children ran around my backyard searching for nature’s treasures to add to their alphabet books. What a blast!
You can try it, too. I order my books from Bare Books but you can always make your own book in a 3 ring binder or using the fold and staple technique.
Write the alphabet in order, one letter per page. I also wrote words like: ant, bird, grass and tree. Then, we did those pages together – drawing pictures and collecting grass for those letter pages.
Now, your small writer has written his or her first book — one that can be added to for many day to come.
*Older kids love this, too!

I love this idea! What a great way to apply alphabet sounds. I’m going to “borrow” this for my kids. Thanks!
So fun! What a great idea!
I love your ideas Melissa. I came across Imagination soup through the Linked In group and it is very timely as I have an interview for a freelance training post in Family Learning tomorrow and am trying to decide on an activity to demo!
