Chore charts, do they work?

I can’t remember to use chore charts. I try every year with a new system. It’s not that they don’t work, it’s that I’m terrible at remembering to use them.
Here’s a Printable Chore Chart from another mom’s site. I love her simple design. Maybe this one will work for me?
I’ve bought two different magnetic charts. The Melissa and Doug reward magnets ended up being “food” for the dolls. That didn’t work. (But aren’t my kids so imaginative?)
The Handipoints system is too complicated for me — so is the MS Word template.
I need help. Do you? Will you share what works for you? Moms like me need to know.

I just made a simple sheet, almost like yours, that my 5 year old checks off every day. She loves the routine, but I have to help her go through it.
